Participants in GF Strong Rehab Centre’s Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA) Program are enjoying a newly renovated lounge area designed to enhance their rehab experience and support them on their journey. The transformed space now offers physically challenged youth a homelike and welcoming environment to socialize, engage in group learning, or simply “hang out” with their peers and enjoy entertainment or down time.

Young people aged 12-19 come to GF Strong’s AYA Program with post-traumatic, acquired or inherited disabilities, including brain or spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disorders. At GF Strong, they learn or relearn how to walk, use their limbs, perform daily tasks and to express themselves.

Thank you to Serracan Properties and Ledcor Construction Ltd. for this thoughtful and generous donation of expertise, time and resources to help improve the rehab experience for young people now and into the future.

“For the young people who come to GF Strong because of brain or spinal injury, or congenital disorders, the lounge is a welcome and comfortable area to support them on their rehab journey.”
– Chris Palmer, Outpatient Manager, GF Strong Rehab Centre
