Sleep disorders are a major health concern affecting 40% of adult Canadians. Left untreated, sleep disorders can lead to serious medical conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

“We all need a good night’s sleep to function at work and at home,” says Farouq Manji, owner of Sleep Shop. “That’s why we are partnering with VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to raise funds for UBC Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Program beginning this November.” With every Sealy, Tempurpedic or Sterns & Foster mattress purchase at its four locations, Sleep Shop will donate $50 to the Foundation.

Funds raised will go toward the Sleep Disorders Program at UBC Hospital, one of the largest specialized sleep programs in the country, and the only multi-disciplinary program providing access to both home and in-hospital sleep monitoring. The funds will help expand the sleep clinic and laboratory spaces to increase patient access to this vital program.

Sleep Shop’s promotion begins November 1, 2016 and runs for a year at all four of its Lower Mainland stores – visit their website for details on store locations. In-store donations will also be accepted.
