In the spirit of International Women’s Week, we are sharing inspiring stories of female leaders in philanthropy. One of those leaders is our very own President and CEO Barbara Grantham.

“It’s important to recognize there are so many women who are leaders in their field and in their community, in philanthropy and health care, who are making a difference,” she says. “This week is a special opportunity to recognize these women who are doing amazing work.”

Very recently, Barbara was recognized as one of 29 amazing mentors for BC Business’ Women of influence 2017. And last December, the mother of three made the list of the Women’s Executive Network’s annual and prestigious Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.

Over her 25-year career as a senior executive and consultant in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors, Barbara Grantham has held positions with the Vancouver Foundation, Streetohome Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Mental Health Association. She also brings her skills to her board work with the YMCA of Greater Vancouver and Awkward Stage Theatre Productions. Grantham also serves as a member of the national advisory council of Imagine Canada.

“I’m grateful to be able to work with so many inspiring women,” she says. “I’m very lucky.”
