The One Country, One Film Festival raised $138,339 in support of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, with funds going to Sheway, a pregnancy outreach program that provides health and social services to women and children in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Held on June 23th and June 24th at the Vancity Theatre, D2D Destiny (a philanthropic youth organization) organized a film festival, which included several short films from around the world that explored the theme of “humanity.” The films included Jail Quarters (France), 17 Anos Juntos (Spain), Coat Check Lady (Russia), A Trip with Mom (Taiwan) and many more.  The founder of the One Country One Festival (which originated in France) was in attendance at the VIP reception on Saturday.

A big thank you to D2D Destiny and everyone who attended the festival, engaging in a rich conversation about the meaning of humanity and how we can each make difference by seeking to understand one another.
