Angus, Canada’s first certified C. difficile-sniffing dog, his trainer Teresa Zurberg and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation would like to thank all of our supporters who donated to Angus for the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.

In total, donors raised $10,575 for S.N.I.F.F. (Skilled Noses for Infection Fighting) at Vancouver Coastal Health. The goal was $10,000.

“We are so grateful for the support you showed us,” Teresa says. “This money will go a long way in helping keep the program going – we can do a lot of great work with this money.”

For the month of June, Angus’ S.N.I.F.F. program, which helps find harmful C. difficile in hospital rooms, was part of the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, a national public contest to benefit any registered charity.

Funds raised will help fund a three-year canine scent-detection program, allow for the training of a second scent-detection dog, and will enable the program to expand to other hospital sites.
