Nathania Fung has been included in the inaugural Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) Forty Under 40 list.

The Forty Under 40 program is designed to recognize the future leaders within the health care philanthropy community. AHP is honoring these 40 young professionals because they are shaping the future of the health care development industry. Collectively, they are changing the world—one campaign at a time.

“Telling member stories and sharing best practices are at the core of what AHP is all about,” says Alice Ayres, AHP president & CEO. “I’m so thrilled that through the Forty Under 40 program, members have shared the stories of our up-and-coming leaders—those making significant impact on the industry so early in their careers.”

Nathania is responsible for overhauling VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation’s annual giving program and pushing the annual Angel holiday campaign to record totals.

“In philanthropy, I think that the most powerful thing we can do is tell stories,” says Nathania. “At VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, we tell stories that illustrate how vital donors are to the transformation of healthcare for British Columbians. The incredible partnerships between leadership, staff, partners, donors, and volunteers at the Foundation, and across Vancouver Coastal Health, makes it possible for philanthropy to have the greatest possible impact.”

Fung had been recognized alongside 11 other Canadians for this international award and will be honoured at the 2018 AHP Annual International Conference October 17-20 in San Diego.

“Having worked with Nathania for several years across multiple organizations,” says Shirlyn Baskette, Associate VP, Philanthropic Programs and Donor Engagement, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. “I am inspired by her dedication to philanthropy, creative approach to donor engagement, and passion for telling the stories of the patients and donors we serve.”
