Harri Jansson volunteers weekly at the Jim Pattison Pavilion Information Desk, helping visitors find their way around VGH.

Harri Jansson has been an important member of the VGH community for more than a dozen years, most recently as a volunteer at the Jim Pattison Pavilion Information Desk, where he helps visitors find their way to see loved ones or to appointments they don’t want to miss.

While Harri spent most of his career as a busy senior executive in the banking industry, he remained committed to giving his time and expertise to BC’s health care community. Prior to retirement, he served as a board member and as Board Chair for VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation in the early 2000s.

His dedication is rooted, in part, to his personal experience at VGH. Harri knows what it’s like to be a patient. After four successful surgeries, he attributes his current good health to VGH’s world-class care and he volunteers to give back to BC’s largest, most specialized hospital. “I can’t financially give millions to the hospital but by volunteering, I feel I can make a difference.”
