January 14, 2013 – On Sunday, September 23, 2012, the second annual “Myeloma Vancouver Stroll for a Cure” took place at Coquitlam Town Centre Park. This event, spearheaded by Francesca and Richard Plaster, raised over $50,000 for the Hematology Research and Clinical Trials Unit (HRCTU) at Vancouver General Hospital, more than doubling last year’s grand total!

More than 250 myeloma patients, family members and friends participated in the 5K walk on this gorgeous day. Congratulations to team “Paul’s Posse” who collectively raised over $17,000!  To all the fundraisers, volunteers and supporters of this cause, a sincere thank you for your contribution to making this event a huge success.

Congratulations Francesca and Richard Plaster for all their hard work to raise awareness of the HRCTU and advancements the VGH Division of Hematology is making to improve the lives of myeloma patients across British Columbia.
