RS2_3326SMOn November 3, 2015, nurses and allied health professionals who provide direct care to VCH patients, clients and residents were invited to attend the Robert H. N. Ho Conference: Quality in Health Care – Make a Difference.

The conference was made possible in part thanks to a generous from Robert and Greta Ho to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. The donation of $2.5 million over five years was put towards the establishment of the Robert H. N. Ho Enhancing Patient Care Program, which also supports other educational, professional development and lifelong learning opportunities for nurses and allied health professionals.

“The gift that Robert and Greta Ho made last year is already benefitting an extraordinary number of health care professionals from across Vancouver Coastal Health,” says Barbara Grantham, president and CEO of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. “The gift and the funding that it makes available, is supporting and improving patient care for the thousands of British Columbians who are treated every year by VCH.”

Attendees enjoyed keynote presentations from motivational speakers and leaders in the health care sector, along with mingling and networking opportunities.

The Robert H. N. Ho Enhancing Patient Care Fund Artwork and pin of holding hands was also unveiled at the event. “This artwork represents the value and importance placed on the nurses and patients at our hospitals and health care centres,” says Grantham.
