Robert and Greta Ho’s enlightened investments of more than $27 million to transform health and human development have created the:
- Robert H.N. Ho Research Centre at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) with three internationally recognized research programs;
- Robert and Greta Ho Cardiac Investigation Centre at VGH to improve cardiac care in BC;
- Robert H.N. Ho Enhancing Patient Care Fund at Vancouver Coastal Health to support lifelong learning for health professionals;
- Hope Centre for Mental Health at Lions Gate Hospital.
Robert Ho’s philanthropic spirit comes from his family’s belief that “before you can receive, you must learn how to give.” He was appointed to the Order of British Columbia in 2013.
In recognition of the Ho’s visionary philanthropy, they will be given the 2014 Leadership Award at VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation’s Night of a Thousand Stars Gala, presented by TELUS. The Award, sponsored by Odlum Brown Limited, is presented to an individual or family in the community for exemplary philanthropic leadership. This year, Robert and Greta Ho will join this prestigious group of past recipients.
