On June 28th Canadian Friends of Hebrew University and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation were privileged to work in partnership to honour Dr. Saul Isserow for his many contributions to the community.

His hard work is admired by many, and we saw that admiration in full force during the event. A total of $3,046,350 has been raised as part of this special event.

Proceeds will support two initiatives: the Sports Cardiology BC clinic at UBC Hospital and the Inspired by Einstein Student Scholarship program at the Hebrew University.

Dr. Isserow was joined on stage by emcee Shane Foxman; Barbara Grantham, President & CEO, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation; Monette Malewski, CFHU National Chair of the Board; and Ambassador Ido Aharni.

Originally from South Africa, Dr. Isserow completed his medical degree at Johannesburg’s University of Witwatersrand in 1986. He then moved to Saskatchewan where he worked as a general practitioner and undertook training in physical medicine and rehabilitation — he later completed training in internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr. Isserow holds a number of roles including: Director of the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Centre for Cardiovascular Health, the Director of Cardiology Services at UBC Hospital, and the Medical Director of Sports Cardiology BC.

Thank you to all of the friends, supporters, and volunteers who joined us to celebrate Saul and raise funds for two impactful initiatives.
