Cardiac rhythm disorders remain a major cause of sickness and death in BC. Patients with heart disease and other cardiac conditions depend on the experts at VGH for specialized cardiac care.

VGH’s cardiac electrophysiologists treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms using minimally invasive procedures. Currently, one of the three cath labs at VGH is dedicated to EP procedures 50% of the time. A new state-of-the-art cath lab equipped with emerging advanced technology and audiovisual capabilities will allow VGH to continue to lead the way in innovation.

A lab dedicated to EP will make VGH one of the most advanced centres for complex cardiac procedures in Canada.
