Members of the Volunteer Services Association (VSA) at UBC Hospital have generously provided more than 40 years of service. VSA member Jean Burnham volunteered for an astonishing 30 years, with 24 years as fundraising chair. She inspired her husband, Graham, who contributed 26 years to the UBC Hospital gift shop. Jean says, “Volunteering kept us young and gave us pleasure and satisfaction.”
The VSA and its members have displayed exceptional service to patients, their families, physicians and staff at UBC Hospital. Through the gift shops and other fundraising efforts, VSA has contributed over $1 million to fund equipment, academic scholarships and other areas of need.
Though the Association has now voluntarily retired, the lives of patients and staff will be forever enriched by the VSA’s dedication.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the VSA for their extraordinary achievement and huge impact on UBC Hospital.[:zh]
