Let’s tackle pancreatic cancer together

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation x BC Rugby

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and BC Rugby were thrilled to be chosen as beneficiaries of the 2024 HSBC SVNS Vancouver 50/50 Draw presented by Grosvenor, held from February 23-25, 2024, at BC Place. The 50/50 ticket sales reached an astounding $221,940 through raffle ticket sales.

The funds generated will significantly advance ground-breaking research in pancreatic cancer and improve patient care, as well as promote the accessibility of rugby throughout British Columbia.

is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Canada, and with an aging population, it is projected to become the second leading cause by 2030. This year alone, 6,900 Canadians, including over 800 British Columbians, will receive a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, only about 10% of those diagnosed in B.C. are expected to survive beyond five years.

We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to support vital cancer research and patient care, and to help make rugby more accessible in our community. To contribute to prostate cancer research and care, please click here.
