In light of continued public health protocols, in-person gatherings are being cancelled, postponed or changed to virtual format. We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Time to Shine gala because protecting our community and keeping each other safe remains the highest priority.
Diverse health care needs didn’t pause when COVID-19 hit, our health care workers need our support now more than ever to ensure that they are able to continue to provide world-class care. While we are unable to come together in person, we continue to raise vital funds for health care initiatives in BC such as our Brain Breakthroughs campaign.
1 in 3 Canadians will be affected by a brain disease, disorder or injury in their lifetime. And BC’s population is aging, so disorders of the brain will inevitably increase. Brain health affects not only the patient, but their loved ones as well. This is why VCH has launched an innovative Dementia Caregivers Clinic.
The Dementia Caregiver Clinic will provide distressed caregivers with comprehensive assessment, evidence-based group therapy and individual counselling, all while their loved one is cared for by dementia professionals. With your support, we can expand this initiative into a sustainable model that will provide hope for caregivers and their families
In lieu of 2021 Time to Shine gala gifts, please support this important initiative by donating here
Together, we can transform health care and make our community an even better place.
