Staff at VCH and donors were invited to preview the completion of Vancouver Coastal Health’s first hybrid operating room (OR) at VGH. The hybrid OR was fully funded by our generous donors as part of our new Future of Surgery fundraising campaign.

A combination — or hybrid —of an interventional radiology suite and a leading-edge operating room, featuring a robotic-assisted C-arm with sophisticated imaging capabilities, the VGH hybrid OR was designed with physician and staff input.

The hybrid OR combines the important aspect of critical diagnostics with surgery which enables patients, when required, to receive both of these vital services in one place. It is an incredible addition to the VGH surgical infrastructure that it will make a significant difference in patient care.
