Thanks to you, our donors, we’ve raised over $500,000,000 since 1980. What does that mean? It means that people from across BC who are facing serious medical challenges – such as severe spinal cord injuries or bone marrow transplants – can rely on our hospitals and health care teams for highly specialized care. It means we have funds for research so we can one day find a cure for devastating diseases like ALS, multiple sclerosis and ovarian cancer. And it means that as a teaching hospital, we can educate and train future generations of health care specialists, so our children, grandchildren – and great grandchildren – will lead healthier, longer lives, with access to BC’s best care for adults.
Really, when it comes down to it, the $500,000,000 raised by our donors means that you, your friends, your family, those you love – are able to get specialized care when it’s needed. And we think that’s pretty important.
In the last 10 years alone, donations have helped our hospitals and health care teams accomplish some amazing things. Read more about our 1/2 Billion Milestone.
